We work on an appointment basis. Our consulting hours are 8.30am until 7.00pm, Monday to Friday and 9.00am until 4.00pm on Saturdays. If you wish to make an appointment please call us on 0141 357 3139.

Please note that emergency appointments will incur a higher cost.

The practice will, where possible provide an estimate of probable costs for procedures and treatments. It is important to note that due to occasional unforeseen circumstances of some procedures and treatments, the estimate provided may only be approximate. In these cases, we will endeavour to keep clients fully informed of any additional costs during the course of the procedure.


We accept cash, debit and credit card (excluding American Express) as forms of payment for treatment. We do not accept personal cheques. All treatment/medication/procedures must be paid for on the same day.


Where a pet is fully insured and the cost of claimable treatment/medication/procedure is over £300, we will be happy to claim directly from your insurance company. We will ask to see a copy of your policy documentation and ask for a ‘Direct Claim Agreement’ to be signed. This document states that the policyholder is responsible for any unpaid fees from the insurance company. We will also require a completed claim form and policy excess to be paid on day of treatment. An administration fee of £7.50 will be charged for every claim form submitted.


Prescriptions are available for any Prescription only medication (POM-V, POM VPS or NFA-VPS) required to treat any animal under our care. These medicines may be obtained from us or you may request a written prescription to obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or suitably qualified person. An additional fee is charged for a written veterinary prescription. Consultation fees will apply. Please refer to the notice in reception regarding prices and notice periods for prescriptions. Prescriptions for POM-V medicines may be repeated at our discretion, to animals under our care, after a clinical assessment of the case. Regular check-ups are required, at intervals of no more than every 6 months. POM-V medicines may be dispensed in amounts sufficient for up to 3 months treatment, at our discretion. Variations may apply according to our clinical assessment of the case.

Returned Medication

The practice does not accept the return of medication for credit or refund. Any unused medication can be returned to us to be destroyed.

Ownership of records, radiographs and similar

Case records and similar records are the property of Hyndland Street Veterinary Surgery and will be retained by us. On request, copies, with a summary of the history will be passed directly to another veterinary surgeon giving a second opinion. Radiographs and results of all other tests we have performed remain the property of Hyndland Street Veterinary Surgery, even though we have raised an invoice for undertaking and interpreting these procedures. The results will be passed directly, upon request, to another veterinary surgeon if a second opinion is sought.

Complaints and Standards

We hope that you never have recourse to complain about the standards of service received from Hyndland Street Veterinary Surgery. However, if you feel that there is something you wish to complain about please direct your comments, in writing, in the first instance to the Practice Manager.

Variation in Terms of Trading

No addition, variation or amendment of these conditions will bind the company unless it is specifically agreed in writing and signed by the Practice Owner.
